It is so crazy to think we are already going into October and will be on fall break next week. This week looks quite a bit different, we have two full days (Monday & Tuesday) and 3 half days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). Student release is 11:24 am.
Wednesday- B Day periods 4-7 I will be seeing 5th period US History, Scholar’s Prep US History, and AP US History.
Thursday- A Day periods 1-3 with our college and career period. I will be seeing AP Government, 2nd period Government, and 3rd period US History.
Friday- B Day periods 4-7 I will be seeing 5th period US History, Scholar’s Prep US History, and AP US History.
AP Government we are finishing up our Articles of Confederation Analytical Reading and taking our second AP Test practice.
Mainstream Government we are digging into the US Constitution unit on CK-12 and completing activities that will hopefully deepen our understanding of our founding documents.
Mainstream & Scholar’s Prep US History will continue working their way through the Gilded Age beginning with the Gold Rush.
AP US History will be completing their chapter 7 reading and slideshows, along with a practice AP test.
Please check your students backpack for their cultural fair packet, I cannot sign off on topics and projects until parents do. We spent Friday completing preliminary research and will dedicate Fridays to our project. This is project is a good chunk of their second quarter grade and requires several check in points. The initial selections (broad topic, specific topics, explanations, parent/teacher signatures) alone are worth 40 points.
There are still spots available to conferences please visit Signup Genius to schedule.
Grades will be updated today. As a reminder the deadline for ALL assignments for the week is Fridays by 4 pm. Any assignment turned in after that time will be added to the next weeks grades. We are required to update Infinite Campus once a week (Mondays).
It has been a great first quarter and I am excited for quarter 2!!
As always if there are any questions, comments, concerns, or issues please feel free to reach out to me.
Have a great week,
